Portraits taken in a documentary style focus on observing the moment, rather than orchestrating it. While I may share a prompt or two during your session to shift your bodies toward the light or to repeat a movement to capture a sweet expression, a documentary-style photographer’s purpose is to blend into the background and simply capture the moments that unfold.

What is documentary-style photography?
Nature is a child’s most authentic playground, and I love to capture the wonder and exploration that takes place when children navigate the outdoors! While I certainly create children’s portraits during family sessions indoors, there’s nothing quite like documenting a child’s innate quest for adventure outside.
While outdoor photos are my favorite kinds of images to create, CHK Photography also offers child portraiture in-studio or indoors as well. Please inquire to learn more!
